Less Is More.

Make up is something that I don't usually wear at all. I'm honestly hand on heart not a fan of the stuff. Yesterday I decided to wear nothing by mascara and it made me realise that less really is more. My outfit wasn't planned, I just threw on a check shirt and jeans. My hair wasn't even styled just thrown together in a loose bun and in all honesty I felt so much better without trying harder. So my tip is to not try at all. Don't think about what you're going to look like and just act on instinct because if you're comfortable you're going to look better because you're confidence will be helping you carry whatever you are wearing.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Another new part to the blog Hair of the Day!

I decided to wear my hair with a middle parting today
for a University interview. These were the results.

I curled my hair with a one inch hair straightener and clipped my fringe to either side of my head to give myself a Lauren Conrad look. Please excuse the barely there makeup everything seems to have worn off, it's been a long day! Haha!

Style influences...

Considering the slight change within my blog I've been wondering whether I should post my style influences. After a lot of thought I decided that I would do so hence this blog, obviously. I'm going to list my top five favourite style icons (if you so wish) of today, and the reason why I like them so much. (The list is in no particular order.)

These tend to be people that I pull ideas from, whom I think know how to wear clothes, no let the clothes wear them.

1 - Lauren Conrad
2 - Ashley Olsen
3 - Vanessa Hudgens
4 - Rachel Bilson
5 - Zooey Deschanel

Lauren Conrad

The reason behind Lauren Conrad is one of my many favourite style icons is that I feel that she doesn't really have a style. She can be in dresses, leggings, jeans, and wear them all. She isn't afraid to wear colour be it in her clothes or her makeup. Her hair is to die for, her infamous "Lauren Conrad" plait being proof of this, and I won't be the first to admit that I have too worn that particular hairstyle.

Ashley Olsen

Out of the two sisters I always favoured Ashley the most. I was never one to find the boho chic that appealing and Ashley out of the two girls is more conservative. However recently I've seen her mix the two of them together, which works very well and something that I hope to try in the near future. Ashley always looks beautiful whether she's wearing a flowing dress or opting for Armani black blazers and jeans. She always adds her own twist to her clothes by throwing together two polar opposites as I previously mentioned, jeans and a sophisticated jacket from a highly praised and respected designer. She is definitely one of the girls who wears the clothes she is given, they don't wear her.

Vanessa Hudgens

What I adore about Vanessa Hudgens is one minute she can dress like a teenage girl, throwing items together subconsciously and making them work and then next she can look like the sophisticated 21 year old that she is. Being younger than her this is why she is one of my favourite fashion icons because she makes herself appeal to so many audiences out there. The above image anchors this with the sophisticated black catsuit, with platforms appealing to and older generation, whilst the suede almost biker/rocker jacket appeals and targets to her much younger audience. Therefore this proves that Vanessa in my opinion knows her style and is one of the many reasons why I like her.

Rachel Bilson

She's girly and I love it. Rachel Bilson knows how to dress her petite shape and it shows, whether she's wearing short dresses, or rolling jeans up towards the end and pairing them with cute red flat shoes. Instead of listening to what is in fashion and being swamped by layers of maxi dress fabric just because they are "in". Rachel Bilson is the definition of conservative boho chic in my opinion and this is definitely one of the many reasons why I love her. Throughout her fashion she doesn't try to dress older, she plays on her cute small look and this works making her one of my favourite style icons.

Zooey Deschanel

Like Rachel she's girly and I love it. Zooey Deschanel is very 50s/60s structure clothing and harsh yet soft fringe showing this. Bone fitted tops and flowy skirts with polker dot patterns galore when it comes to Zooey's style. What I love about Zooey is she doesn't conform to what is in fashion, she takes what ever is featured on the catwalk and adds her own twist to it. She knows how to dress her body which most definitely shows when she exhumes confidence whilst wearing clothes.

Good morning! Heres my Outfit of the Day for Monday...

Lipstick one: Silver Rose 128
Lipstick two: Anemone 156

Both products by: Maybelline.

Lipstick one: Silver Rose 128.

Initially this out of the two was my favourite, but that was only when I made the mistake of placing the colour upon the skin on my hand. On testing it on my lips however I found that the colour was barely visible. I would say that this colour is definitely for more of a natural, barely-there makeup look. Personally I would recommend this colour to more of a fair-haired girl considering the shade would be subtle, and not "clashy" with lighter shades of skin.

Lipstick two: Anemone 156.

When looking that the colour of this lipstick I will honestly say that it didn't appeal to me at first. However upon placing it on my lips I felt differently in that the shade suited my skin. I found that the colour was just enough to add a hint of colour to my lips, whilst keeping to a natural feel within my make-up without looking too bare. However when applied with pressure this colour could be used for a more daring look, and for girls who are too shy to opt for the daring out there bright red lips and want something subtler but with the same in you face effect.

(pictures to follow)

Helllllloo! I told you I was back into the whole blogging thing. Firstly Happy Sunday to everyone of you. Decided to not make today a lazy day and meet up
with my best friend for a much need English tea, cake and vent.

Honestly hand on heart Erica will be the best friend I will ever have, no matter what she will. There's been times where we've been tested but not to sound cheesy, or cliche, but we have been made stronger by everything.

Today we put things into perspective and I know that she'll be the friend that I can always turn too. Without a shadow of a doubt. She gives me advice, tells me the truth, and is so straight to the point that you can do anything but love her!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Busy Lizz(ie)

Well, well, well... Long time no see... How ya doing? Great? Good.

I'm sorry I haven't graced your presence for a long time, but I've been really busy enjoying life for the past couple of months. First of all I can't believe we are in March 2010, already?! It's gone by so fast... a little too fast for my liking might I add.

I've been spending so much time with friends, going to concerts... well concert it's not plural just yet, making memories and just generally having a great time. (Other than the times spent in college.) I kid, I kid... I make some amazing memories at college with my buds. Anyways UCAS was all sent of all Uni's replied and I have offers for four of those Uni's... My fifth is having an interview with me this coming Tuesday, I'll let you know how it goes considering I feel that I have my spark back when it comes to this whole blogging thing.

I've decided that when it comes to this blog I'm going to change my way of looking at it. I want to write my feelings down sure I do, but I think I want to start reviewing things, giving my weekly favourite quotes, songs too. I want to write my opinions down and also here yours too, if I may.

Sound good?

I'm going to give my blog a makeover too I think. New layout, new profile etc... Professionalism is the way forward. Ha!

So be expecting a few posts from me soon.

Love to you all.
