taper jean girl.

Hello everyone! Bringing you an OOTD post here... It's been soooo long I've forgotten what it's like to post one of these haha! Anyway I'm off to go hit the sales today with my best friend. No doubt there is nothing but utter shite left but it's a day out today! Yeah, I am actually wearing jeans in these photos, I know I've shocked myself but I had to compensate for the fact that I'm not wearing a proper coat, but a jacket. I'm going causal today because I've got a party tonight which means I need to hold back on any thinking I put into my makeup, hair and clothes.

Oh yeah and the title came from the song I was listening to whilst taking these photos.

sunday snap #9.

#1. Happy Boxing Day everyone! The smell of turkey is well and truly in blazing in my house. I went to my aunties house yesterday and had an amazing day with my cousins. Spent the day eating way too much and felt so very sick at the end of the night! Oh well, what's Christmas without getting fat eh? Haha! I finally got my internet back on Christmas eve so that was an even better start to my Christmas!

#2. I had so many presents, such a selection. Make-up, money, chocolate (duh!), perfume, body wash sets, a lottttt of stuff! Now the excitements worn off and I've realised how old I've become... Haha! Sad really considering I'm only 19 and technically many would say I'm not old, but you know, haha!

#3. Lastly, I don't have much to write today, just make sure you enjoy your day doing whatever you are with whoever you're with! :)

it was the night before christmas

Hello everyone, it's a rambling blog coming your way. It's Christmas Eve and I'm wide awake watching The Holiday which has to be one of my favourite christmas films ever. I absolutely adore Jude Law in this film in particular. Anyway, I want to get my apologies for not updating the blog at all this week. I know, I suck, but I've just been incredible busy with either doing sweet FA, or seeing friends, and (ex's) but lets not go there yes? Yeah, okay. Basically I've just been too busy.... That's what christmas does to us all I suppose.

I just wanted to say, I'm super excited for tomorrow. I'm having dinner with the fam and then I'm going spend my time slobbing out and getting fat(ter) aha! Hope you all have an amazing christmas, doing whatever you enjoying doing and here's to a great 2011!

sunday snap #8.

#1. This week has been a nightmare! My internet hasn't been working and I've had to go to my friends how to upload videos for youtube and even write this blog. (I will say that it's Saturday night when I write this so I am sort of cheating, sorry!) Ignore my picture, just a quick photobooth snap and bobs your uncle. Anyway, I really hope that my internet sorts itself out because I feel really bad that I haven't been updating the blog.

#2. I went to see Kings of Leon yesterday and I have to say one) they were FANTASTIC, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE! and two) I am still recovering from it. I don't know what it is but my head is absolutely killing me and I didn't touch a drop of alcohol... so I'm definitely, as my friends say, confused-dot-com, haha! The crowd were so good, like jumping around and singing along. Of course I had some annoying girl on my back who only knew them because of Sex On Fire, which is of course annoying especially when she and her friend are constantly saying after every song, "When are they going to play Sex on Fire?" I mean COME ON, they have OTHER SONGS, maybe if you really liked them you would find out that their stuff before Sex on Fire is wayyyyy better!!! They played one of my favourites which is Four Kicks, so I well chuffed haha, but in all honestly if you haven't seen Kings of Leon then I recommend that you should, because last night was the best 50£ I have ever spent! Can't wait to go see them play again!

#3. I WISH THE SNOW WOULD GO AWAY. Today I had plans with my friends which have been put on hold for in the middle of the week but I honestly don't think we're gonna get to do them. The snow was falling so thick and fast today that I actually wanted to scream at the top of my lungs WHY GOD WHY?! I mean sure the snow is lovely to look at, makes everything feel really Christmasy and without a doubt makes everything look like the front of a Christmas card but when you have to venture out it makes everything so dangerous. To be honest I think I'm over Winter.

#4. ANOTHER REASON I HATE THE SNOW.... Because I was going to the football today (Sunday) to see my local football derby but noooo, that's been cancelled due to the snow. Not good. The snow needs to get my memo which says GO AWAY.

#5. If you didn't catch the video I uploaded in the week then here it is:

TAG: Would You Rather...

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been updating but my internet is down... I'm currently on someone elses computer using their internet. Hopefully I'll be able do the same Sunday because I want to get a Sunday Snap post up and running for you! Here's a video I uploaded (again from someone elses computer) so I hope you enjoy! It really has been a nightmare without any internet... It just goes to show how much it takes up my life!

sunday snap #7.

#1. I finally finished my christmas shopping! I've bought everything I needed to get and have now wrapped it. Only just finished it though... Now watching Elf with my family. I love this film! I know it word for word I've watched it that many times though. I have to say I've seen favouritism towards my parents when buying presents - I just don't know what to buy for my Dad and being a girl it's so much easier to buy for my Mom so it's definitely not intentional. Breathing a sigh of relief that it's all done with now.

#2. Excuse the picture, I took it this morning when I was eating breakfast. I have to say I didn't wake up till 12:15, sooo lazy. But over this last few days I've been sleeping in so late which is really unlike me. I don't know whether it means I'm coming down with some illness or I just need to catch up with sleep, but I have to say I love it and I'm not going to complain about an extra couple of hours.

#3. I can't believe today is the final X Factor. Honestly I feel like this year has flown by and it's actually pretty scary. Anyway, I would really love Matt or One Direction to win. As much as I love Rebecca, and her KILLER voice, she doesn't move. For me a successful artist is both an amazing singer/songwriter and entertainer. I want to know that if I'm going to pay money to see that person I'm going to have a fantastic time, and to me Rebecca just doesn't do that. I watched last night and have to say that Rhianna blew me away. I don't really like her if I'm being honest with myself and I never really have. I don't have a reason for it she just isn't my taste I suppose, but she was brilliant last night. I just wish she would change her hair colour because it does nothing for her!

#4. I went to see my friend perform this week at her Uni SU bar. She did amazing, a right little rocker she is! She was nervous as anything but I knew she was going to rock it! It's weird for the two of us because sometimes we're joined at the hip and going to different universities was going to be a "challenge" so to say but I'm proud of her, she's like my sister, and I'm glad she's sticking it out and doing what she loves! :)

#5. Next week is going to be AMAZING. I'm going to see Kings of Leon which is just.... jkjlkljkdnk'sknfeoinan! I can't actually put it into words, but just know that next weeks 'Sunday Snap' will be SO much more interesting!

TAG: 50 Random Questions...

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd post my latest youtube video. I got bored in the middle of the week and decided to answer the 50 Random Questions tag... Little boring but hey it killed time! Hopefully I'll get a more relevant fashion/beauty video up in the next coming weeks.

and repeat.

I've been wearing my hair up like this for a while now, just throwing it up in a hair tie and making do. I have to say it's been doing my head in, always being in my face but I'm really conscious of my shoulders... They're like swimmers shoulders. My old P.E teacher at school told me that she thought I had a swimmers body, whatever that is. Anyway, my hair will be back down as of tomorrow I can assure you!

To most people I probably look at mess but I wanted to get another video out there for you guys and this was the best I could do. The picture quality isn't great and again I apologise for that! I really need to sort of my camera out... I know I keep saying it but I do. Anyway I think I'm going to have to keep this one short because I can barely type my fingers are that cold, I must invest in some fingerless gloves.

polka dot.

Today's outfit consists of an ASOS playsuit and my famous Primark cardigan. I didn't have to leave the house today so I don't really know who I got dressed if I'm truely honest. Yeah I know that sounds gross but it's winter and I don't really have a reason to leave. I'm a student, I'm allowed to be lazy, I'm allowed to stay in bed all day and look a mess. That's part of the experience. Haha!

Anyway, the playsuit is something I usually wear as a going out outfit, but to be honest they drive me insane when you have to constantly undo the back. I think all playsuits should have press studs hidden in the crotch area for us lazy people - me included obviously. Sorry for the quality of pictures, I took these really late tonight and the colouring was terrible. I should really stop doing things at the last minute.

All my work is finished, and I'm ready for Christmas now. My friends return this week, one from Sheffield, the other from Nottingham. So the gang is going to be reunited and go to our second home, aka the spoons. I'm excited!! Other than that the only thing I've got going on is I've got another essay in for 17th January on something that I'm going to have to study hard. Let the good times roll eh?

sunday snap #6.

#1. This week I've been stressing out so much about my essay, as you guy saw from my last post that I've spent the entire week with my head in a book. Not that I had anywhere to go, or wanted to leave my house because the weather outside is basically snow. Everywhere. Yeah I love it, I love it even more when I don't have to leave the house, but I always have to leave the house! I honestly can't want until Uni is over just for the sake of not having to leave. I've almost finished, just need to write the conclusion... Argh!

#2. I went to see London Boulevard with my Mom last week (I forgot to blog about it on my last Sunday blog haha). She loves Ray Winstone, and I wanted to treat her... Plus I have to say Colin Farrell isn't bad on the eye either. I actually really liked the film even though I can't stand Keira Knightly. I had to laugh though because sitting behind me and my Mom were two old women who clearly didn't like her either, and I quote: "Why have they chosen her for? She has no chest." "She's got a big chin as well." I wasn't expecting the ending, it actually made me quite annoyed. I don't know... Sigh.

#3. Thursday I braved the snow and I'm actually proud when I say I didn't slip once, however I was walking like an OAP with a zimmer frame BUT I DON'T CARE! Haha... I did it! I had uni from 11am-7pm... Terrible. It was scary walking back on my own and my Mom made me talk to her the entire journey home. I hated it! I'm not going in next week considering it's only a seminar, I'll just email in. My lecturers appear heartless considering next week is the independent task and they're swapping it around, well they can screw!

#4. I HAVEN'T STARTED MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING! WHAT!!!!! I think I'm just gonna go to the mini-shopping centre thats about 10 minutes down the road and get my Mom's gift or should I say gifts... I want to spoil her this year. I don't know what it is but this year has made me really appreciate my Mom, not that I didn't appreciate her before, but now I definitely don't take her for granted. I think I'm going to get my brother a bunch of DVDs... He loves comedians and stuff like that so fingers crossed he likes it. That or a iTunes gift card? Hmmm....

#5. WE PUT OUR CHRISTMAS TREE UP YESTERDAY!!! Super early for us, usually do it the middle of December but my Mom's going out next week with her work. Some charity ball or something.... Anyway, yesterday I got all excited because I love putting the decorations up! Other than that I've just been working on my essay, writing and editing... Fun, fun, fun!

my head is in a book.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to apologise in advance that this week I won't be posting anymore outfit's of the day. I am absolutely snowed under with work. I'm currently working on a 1500 word essay that is talking about representation. I'm trying my hardest to get my head around it and use the correct amount of everything. I have to say I am so, so nervous about the outcome of this essay! I want to pass with flying colours so to speak but I have seriously began to doubt myself and my knowledge about media.

I love the subject so much and I really can see myself working in the field some day, and it's not that the works hard it's just complex. There's so many pieces to the puzzle that you have to find and make sure they fit. It's time consuming and I hate it, but I'm not going to give up, I can't. So right now my Uni work is becoming the first priority in my life right now not because it has to but because I need it to. In order to get what I want out of my life I need to do this.

I promise when things ease off I'll come back to this blog. I'm sure I'll be able to get at least one outfit post a week but I can't promise anything on that!

See you on the other side, so far I'm a third of the way through. Wish me luck!

no expectations.

coat: asos
t-shirt: h&m
leggings: topshop
ring: primark
nails: barry m

Considering the t-shirt I'm wearing, the title of this post seems pretty relevant (a Rolling Stones song), not that I'm real fan of theirs or anything. Anyway I haven't worn this t-shirt for a long time, the last time in particular being that of when I was at V-Festival. It's a perfect top to just thrown on, either over leggings, jeans, or a skirt (even if it is very long). Sorry I didn't post a lot last week, I was just super busy considering I finish uni in 2/3 weeks. I promise I'll be back on track soon, trying to get outfits posts for every day, and I'll get those reviews done (even though I've been saying that for ages!) of products that I've bought with my own money - even if it kills me!

I still haven't done my Christmas shopping (which is terrible of me!) and I know I'm going to regret it. I know what I'm going to buy my Mom, but I have absolutely no idea what to get for my brother? What should I buy a 23 year old? Gah, it's hard!! On top of that I need to buy my best friend as well, man oh man I wish money grew on trees but don't we all?! I've finally ordered the Barry M Nail Effects... After weeks and weeks of searching for it in shops, and every Boots/Superdrug/Department Store I went into didn't have it! So I gave in and ordered it off the barry m website - can't wait for it to get here considering it looks amazing/so genius!

brogues.

shoes: primark

One thing I want my bloggers to know is that I adore shoes, so much that sometimes I find it hard to wear them because I find them so beautiful. I know some people might think that's weird but I don't know, that's just how I am. Anyway these shoes are the brogues that I told you about in a previous post, the ones that I bought from Primark on an impulse. I have to say I actually really like them, I find them a bit different without the laces - also this is great because you don't have to keep tying the laces and I must say I'm lazy when it comes to that!

They were really cheap at £8 and I don't feel bothered if they get scruffed up a bit because it adds something to them, whereas if I were to do that to any other brogues I own I'd feel slightly bad. Maybe it's the price tag?!

sunday snap #5.

#1. I've been feeling really ill of late and it's driving me crazy because I can't explain it. I'm always light headed and have a head ache but I haven't got any signs of a cold at all. So I've spent the entire weekend sitting in every night which hasn't been a chore because I've been watching I'm A Celebrity Get Me Outta Here every night - clearly I have great choice in TV - and it's easily great tv if you're ill. However I was proper gutted to find out that Nigel Havers had left on Monday, so so gutted, he was definitely one of my favourites even if that was only for the simple fact that in each episode he looked like he was going to blow. Haha! I'm sooo cruel!

#2. Got my first essay back this week. I got a grade C which completely knocked me. I wanted to get so much better! Here's the thing I have this weird way of looking at grades where I get really disappointed with myself. However I can see where I went wrong with the essay itself and see why I got the grade I got. I know next time that I have to try harder and at least I didn't fail considering it was my first uni assignment ever! Really when I look at it that way I should be proud of myself... I don't know maybe I just need to push it aside and get on with it, find my errors and fix them.

#3. Went to see Harry Potter Friday with my best friend. OMG how cute/hot is Rupert Grint in it? I've never found either him or Dan attractive but ever so recently Rupert has really come into his own. Anyway I loved the film, I haven't read the books (even though I own every single book) which is really bad of me because I love reading so I didn't know anything about what happened apart from the fact Dobby died considering it was a trending topic on twitter and the amount of facebook groups about it is ridic. It will be sad when the films are finished though, it's been such a big part to British film, and in a lot of people's lives - essentially I've grown up with it! :)

#4. Excuse me whilst I freak out about Thursday's episodes of Misfits, it was soooo good. Actually really like how they bought focus onto Iwan's character of Simon... As much as I adore Robert Sheehan's character of Nathan and his genius lines it's nice to see someone come out of the background. I have to say the episode itself was kinda graphic, I was in that awkward cringe/do I laugh stage because my Mom was in the same room when it was happening. I was biting my lips trying to keep the laugh from leaving my lips because it's childish but OMG! Haha! Anyway....

#5. I put a new youtube video up Thursday even though I said last week that the blog was my main focus. Tuesday I just decided I wanted to make a video, so I did. Here it is for those of you who didn't see it:

vintage.

coat: vintage

A couple of weeks ago my Mom was having a huge clear out when we came across this coat. I have to say I fell in love with it immediately. It fits the camel trend of this autumn/winter and I love the fact that the coat is completely vintage. I like the idea of how I will be able to walk around and not see anyone wearing this coat considering it was bought in the 80s.

I've fully decided that I want to bring this coat out of retirement and I'm going to wearing every now and again. One downfall is there is no hood - I love a good hood, and they are especially helpful if you live in England and you haven't brought an umbrella with you because we never know when rain is going to spring out on us out of nowhere.

Don't you think it's to die for though? I absolutely love it!

so basic.

cardigan: primark
top: g21
skirt: h&m
tights: asda
rings: primark
nail varnish: barry m

I think most of the clothes I own must be black, everything. I really need to re-think everything. This outfit is totally for comfort today because I have a long day at Uni and I'm gonna be in the library.

Today I'm wearing the h&m skirt that I appear to be living in. Its just a normal black colour and is so easy to slip on over a pair of tights either with a cute shirt or baggy top. I'm wearing it with a pair of brogues that I bought from Primark on an impulse, something that I seem to be doing of late which is really beginning to annoy me. Theres something about tan and black tights that I really love. It looks so sleek and tidy and makes the shoes stand out. I've feel really busy of late and have found myself living in the library again because I have to assignments that I need to hand it a little under a month and I just want them out of the way asap.

I just want to thank anyone who looks at this blog, I know I don't get many (if any) comments but the fact that every time I sign in I see that my views have gone up is enough for me. To know that you guys are looking makes me smile and know that my blogging isn't a waste of time.

bomber.

jacket: f21
dress: topshop
tights: asda
necklace: asos

I adore this jacket! I bought it from the opening of forever 21 and it caught my eye as soon as I saw it in the mens section, yes you heard me right the mens section! I just had to have it and I don't care where it was from. I've been looking for a coat like this for a while and as soon as I saw it I knew... Excuse me whilst I begin to start crushing on a jacket. Anyway, it's really comfy, quite thin but great to throw over a hoodie to add a slight edge to it.

sunday snap #4.

#1. Same old same old again. Nothing great happened this week. Boring uni, boring, boring, boring. Okay maybe I'm lying because I did go and see a medium on Monday which was incredibly freaky but I don't know whether you guys want to be bored with the same stuff that I previously posted. I just have to say that I was almost bought to tears because it was something that was so true to me, and I got slightly embarrassed that she was saying it in front of others but I bit the bullet and have decided that I really have to do something about the issue that was bought to light.

#2. I feel like I'm ready to embrace Christmas because up until now I want to kill anyone that is on the train when I have depart for Uni each day, only because I can never find a seat! The town is always packed out, and I have to duck and dive my way through hoards of people but I think I'm just going to take a deep breath and embrace it. I have to otherwise I'm going to end up making my head explode.

#3. I went and saw Jackass 3D in the week, Wednesday to be particular (I had to use my Orange Wednesday up - I am after all a very poor student ha!) anyway I have to say the movie itself was absolutely hilarious! I was almost crying with laughter! I know it's really crude but having an older brother I was almost forced to grow up with programmes like Jackass and Dirty Sanchez. Never the less I absolutely love them, they are soooo funny, and soooo rude that you can't help but laugh even if you are disgusted at the same time. I would recommend anyone go and see it, however it was slightly weird to see all the people involved look old, and have wrinkles whilst laughing - oops sorry "laughter lines" - but definitely go if you've always been a fan!

#4. There's no The Only Way Is Essex tonight, which is just terrible. Last week was the last one and I was so mortified about how Kirk was beaten to a pulp (slightly) by Mark that I was almost crying. I said at the end, "I've grown to close to those characters!" like it was someone sort of drama or something - not a reality show. Clearly that just shows that my brain, subconsciously, or maybe not so subconsciously knows how set up the show is and was.

#5. I attended the german market this week which is always held in the winter time around Birmingham, UK. I have to say that I love it! It gets me prepared and ready for Christmas even if it is freezing. I had so much fun with my friends and enjoyed one or maybe two donuts too... cheeky ha!

#6. I have to say that I've been neglecting my youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/wowitslizz a lot lately and I'm not sorry about that! Youtube just seems to becoming less and less my priority at the moment and I'm absolutely loving blogging about everything so my youtube is going to be pushed aside of the time being.

forever 21.

Hello everyone I finally managed to sort through all of the pictures I took when I attended the opening of Forever 21 on 12th November in the Birmingham Bullring. I have to say this will probably be like a story when I blog about the day itself and I'm sorry if I bore half of you to death but that's just how I'm going to do it.

Firstly happy-week-a-versaray! Haha! I know I'm such a geek but I can't believe this time last week was I not only turning 19 but I was awake and getting ready for the opening of a store that has been very much anticipated by everyone and their moms! Anyway onto the store, when I got to Birmingham I had no idea where was the store was going to be, even though I know the Bullring like the back of my hand. So using my head I just headed straight there and found a lot of people around. Then I noticed all the banners that surrounded the top area of the Bullring... and spotted the queue of people.

To be honest there weren't as many people as I thought there would be and I was quite near the front, however the amount of photographers was insane, so many news reports and people taking pictures. Anyway, after walking to the front and getting a picture of the front of the shop - which was absolutely stunning I joined my mom in the queue. We probably queued for about 15 or 20 minutes before the shop opened and as the shutter went up people cheered.

Slowly the queue mulled forward and it wasn't long before we were inside, where we saw shop assistants handing out goodie bags (inside them: a forever 21 umbrella, two forever 21 pens and a male wallet). The newness of the shop made me smile, you know that smell you get when something is new, well that just entered my lungs when I took in a deep breath upon entrance. I'll admit was excited, and I knew for sure that my eyes had lit up like a child's in a sweet shop but I just adore fashion. I was so glad I had my Mom with my because we both had a shopping basket each, which of course was great! ;)

Upon entrance I actually couldn't speak and most people must think I'm joking or over-exagerating but I'm not. I couldn't actually pick anything for a while because I was just so in awe. I think a couple of the shop assistants were laughing at me to be honest. Anyway, I found one item of clothing that I loved from the bottom which was dress before I ended up taking to the stairs (I was shocked that it was more than one floor (THREE FLOORS) as I thought there would only be one) and I'll admit I felt like I was hyperventilating once I took to the above floor.

The entire floor is covered in accessories, everything you can think off and as you know I love a good accessory. I was so indecisive, there was just so much to take in, and I was all over the place. I couldn't think straight - I'd walk one way and then abruptly walk another way because I'd spotted something else. It was insane. I ended up buying two bags and a ring from that floor. When I'd finally had enough of that floor (which was never) I decided to go down to the bottom floor.

The bottom floor consisted of casual clothing, a mens section (which I was surprised that they would have) and a plus size section which I was so glad that they had. I ended up buying a bomber jacket from the mens section which caught my eye straight away, so much, that I march straight over to it and grabbed it off the rail.

All in all, the shop itself was breathtaking. So pretty and just incredibly priced. If you can make it to the shop anytime, go check it out! I can't wait to go back... but first I think I need to save because I definitely know this shop is going to clean me out - and I'm okay with that! :)
