First off I just want to say that I ADORE Kings Of Leon. They are INCREDIBLE.
Okay now I've got that off my chest I want to blog about my amazing weekend at V Festival with my friends. The drive down there wasn't too bad, easy with the radio and laughter and all over excitement. The banter between my friends about using the porter toilets and worrying about looking a mess. Girls will be girls I suppose, haha!
Anyway, having never been camping before in my life, I was dreading it. Many of my friends said to me, "you're going to hate it." More or less looking me square in the face and saying, "you're high maintenance." And I suppose I am considering I looked up festival fashions before I went there.
So we get there, after having to trek through fields with all our clothes and suitcases and set up the joke that is our massive tent (even though I love my best friend for having such a great one haha!) It's safe to say that my friends know me well because I didn't like camping. The first day I was bored out of my brains, sitting in our tent chilling because Friday there aren't any acts playing. However I just want to say that it shows how life today is consumed by technology - but I do love electricity.
We had so many jokes during the day, cooked bacon only to find we'd forgotten the bread to eat it on, "you can feel my baps in exchange for some baps", tried out the fun fair, in which I lost my amazing sunglasses - that sucked - and bought some for 5£ bargain. After having the worst nights sleep ever, being woken up because I was so cold I was shaking I hoped that Saturday wouldn't disappoint. It didn't.
Okay so it rained but I still had so much fun. Watched Pixie Lott, Madness (in which my friend Andy got told he needs to shave his arse), Paolo Nutini, The Kooks (who were amazing and I'd missed them so much!) literally jumped around and danced with my friends so much during their set, Faithless (not to my taste) and of course Kasabian from the main stage. Saw Example, and listened to Peter Andre (lol). But let me just point this out - PLAN B - I love him. Literally, his voice is just, as my friends say beaut. His rendition of Seal's - Kiss From A Rose was incredible. Definitely want to see him again. He was one of my favourites from the day!
That night went back to our tent only to be called unsociable by some dick head blonde girl who was off her face on alcohol. Stayed up till 3am, freezing, before sleeping.
Had a better nights sleep and woke up to a beautiful Sunday!
Sunday by far was my favourite day, I had so much fun with my friends. We started the day out with some food, and chilling outside our tent. Planned our day out (which didn't go to plan). Tried to hide alcohol in our coats, which was a success, and sat on the grass painting our faces with glow in the dark paint ready for Kings of Leon. Watched Feeder, Passion Pit, The Coral, Tinie Tempah (who was AMAZING), The Temper Trap (in which I was stood next to Sophie Powell the entire time), Scouting For Girls, Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine, Stereophonics, and of course Kings Of Leon!!!!!!
I just want to write something about Kings Of Leon/Kasabian. Out of the two headline acts Kings of Leon blew Kasabian out of the water. The one thing I love about Kings of Leon is they can play any type of song, high energy or mellow, and still the crowd is buzzing and that was something I just didn't see with Kasabian. I would recommend anyone go and see Kings of Leon when you can because you really won't regret it!!
This morning we woke up only to be tired as anything, all looking like tramps yet happy. Everything about this weekend was perfect, the highs definitely out weighed the lows and it was definitely the best money I've ever spent. Now to shower, sleep and catch up on everything I've missed!
HIGHS: Being with friends, Kings of Leon (the fact that they said that Stafford would go down as being one of their/Caleb's fave shows was the best!), making memories, experience, the selection of music! (Basically everything other than below!)
LOWS: Not being able to wash, toilets, lack of sleep.
