So no doubt most of you reading this by now will have already read a ton of reviews regarding this product - yet here I am wanting to add my couple of cents to the mix. The Nude collection (which was created by Sleek Makeup in 2011) saw the brand that is well known for its crazy brights and amazingly pigmented products throw a curveball into their market and give their consumers the neutral shades they were craving!
Being a neutrals girl this excited me so much that I found myself hitting my nearest Superdrug and snapping up the collection as quickly as possible. Of course the products didn't disappoint in anyway shape or form.
As the name gives away the Au Naturel Palette has a range of neutral shades, all names after things that are linked to or reminiscent of the colour. Like most Sleek palettes the shadows are encased in a black plastic holder which is matte and showcase a clear plastic sheet protecting the shadows from damage whilst holding the names of each shadow present in the palette upon it. My favourite shadows from the top have to be: Cappuccino, Honeycomb and Taupe. Whilst, Conker, Moss and Mineral Earth are my favourite on the bottom.
Regarding the pay off of the colours, for the price they are amazing (as expected from Sleek) and I definitely wouldn't shun them just because they aren't "high-end". You can create a fair few looks for a fifth of the price of a Naked Palette here, so for those on a budget it's a must!
Overall I have to say that I feel this palette is a pretty, well-balanced set of neutral shadows. Sleek have done a good job creating a versatile, mulit-tasking palette that combines a great amount of both matte and shimmery shades taking into consideration day and night wear. For the price this product is an absolute steal and definitely gives its rival neutral palettes (I'm thinking UD Naked Palette, Stila etc...) a run for their money!
Recently I have been getting into running. I never thought that those words would ever grace my lips but I have been training and building myself up to 5K and have been thoroughly enjoying it. As I haven't done that many fashion related posts I thought that this would be a great way to get me back into the swing of things regarding 'Wednesday Wants'.
A classic black outfit that does it's job is definitely a great place to start for any beginner of running (or weight loss) who may conscious of they slightly larger body. The shirt, by Nike, is specifically made for running. The DRI-FIT technology within the shirt helps to wick away perspiration from the body and keep the runner cooler for longer. Add a heart rate monitor and you're good to go!

Finally, and probably the most important part of this post is, footwear. Running shoes are essential when it comes to embarking on this physical activity. The right pair of shoes can help with recovery time and more so regarding injury as they offer enough support to the foot. Make sure you find the right pair for you, research and ask advice when buying your first pair!

A bit of colour can always improve a mood. Outfit two is trying to keep you as cool as possible, maybe more of a choice for summer months, with capri pants and a loose fitted tank again with DRI-Fit technology.Instead of a heart monitor make sure you keep hydrated and carry around water with you - this water bottle is ideal with it's shape and easy to grip handle.
BB Creams are something that I have known of for a while. They have always been something that I have wanted to try, yet I have (like most of you reading this may also have done) read the horror stories regarding colouring issues and oompa-loompa tales. As a result I have always been too scared to step into this field of makeup. Also, let's be honest BB Creams sound amazing on paper - the idea of evening out the skin tone, acting a primer of some sort whilst being a foundation/concealer creating a super product almost seems too good to be true!
With summer (and more to the point humidity) upon us wearing foundations and piling product onto my skin is not something that appeals to me. I have yet to find a tinted moistoriser that matches my skin tone entirely so I finally decided to venture into the world of BB Creams. After some research and a look in my local Superdrug I opted for the MUA All in One BB Cream, not only because of positive views I had read but also because of the cheap and reasonable price tag that MUA is known for.
From what I have read this BB Cream is considerably thicker than others of the same label on the market, almost like a normal foundation. However unlike foundation this product does not feel heavy on the skin and blends somewhat effortlessly with a normal foundation brush (I tend to use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush). It glides onto the skin (even though it can feel considerably sticky when first applied to the face) and after a good buff it sits well on the face. The coverage could range from light to medium depending on the amount of product used.
I mix two shades when using, light and medium. I find when applying the product to my skin this gives the best finish - the light is too pale, whereas the medium too dark which is most likely down to my weird skin tone - yet like most things I plod along just fine and work around that because of how much I like what I've found. I have to say that a big round of applause needs to go out to MUA here because the light shade is actually light - unlike some of the other counterparts out there that showcase light shades that give more of an orange look (big no no!). However one downside of this product that I want to note is that the shades are rather limited and many people may find that there isn't anything for them to work with within this range, which is unfortunate as they are rather brilliant.
Overall I think this is a great product - somewhat a lazy foundation. I find that this is something I am most likely to reach for when I don't want to a) put much on my skin and b) mess around with applying a full face. For me this does everything that I want from a concealing product. It evens out my skin tone, covers the redness of my cheeks and hides any blemishes that I may have. It gives a slight dewy finish that can somewhat look slightly greasy (oily skins beware!), however this can of course easily be eradicated with a good (translucent) powder. I think for the price you can't complain and it's definitely worth a try!
I'm not one for putting product on my lips. I'm happy with a coat of Vaseline and I'm good to go. Not only am I prone to dry lips a lot of the time but I prefer to keep my makeup as simple and as 'nude/natural' as possible. As soon as I saw the Sleek Pout Polishes I knew they would be right up my street. A balm type consistency with a touch of colour - perfecto! Of course I had to pick up a couple of different shades (one just isn't ever enough is it?) and share my views on this product.
The tinted balm that I opted for Peach Perfection (and Bare Minimum - which I'll talk about a later date). In the packaging the colour presented is that of a pinky coral shade which transfers onto the lips as more of a light coral shade that is somewhat milky and milk. Surprisingly (maybe not so much for the brand but more so due to the type of product) the pigment within this product is incredible! On the lips a mild coral shade is produced that is wearable on its own or layered over other lip products, giving a non-sticky glossy finish. The product provides a moisturising feel that is comfortable wear, light and non greasy.
There is a slight light vanilla scent to the product when in its packaging that can be somewhat off putting but upon application is not detectable once worn. Whilst it is meant to be a lip balm is doesn't offer healing elements like Carmex/Vaseline etc... However it does boast an SPF (just what we need for the summer months) and add that little something extra to the lips. In terms of wear, like most lip balms, the product isn't long lasting upon the lips but then again we can't have everything can we?!
I would recommend this product to those of you out there who, like myself, aren't really a fan of wearing anything on your lips or want a product that can create a 'your lips but better' look.
So this is probably something out of my comfort zone, fashion wise anyway! It's rather loud with a mix of bright colours but I am actually in love with this shirt. I saw it on the ASOS website when I was looking for something that could fit into the smart/casual bracket and thought it was perfect.
I haven't got an outfit of the day in this yet, but I'm sure I'll get around to it sooner or later. I'm imagining it with black skinny jeans and some black flats and maybe a black bag. I want the shirt to do the talking definitely. I'm not going to lie though I am terrified to step out in the big wide world in this little ensemble, hence why I'm turning to my trusty black for anything else. Definitely a step in the right direction though!
For those of you reading this who may like this shirt then definitely check out the ASOS website. As I'm typing this it is still available online (however this is going to be a scheduled post, so when this goes live I don't know whether it will still be available). The shirt itself is available here.
If anyone knows of any other shirts that you think I would be interested in based upon this post then definitely pop some links in the comments below for me to have a look. It would be greatly appreciated!

Firstly, I tend to use this product at night, sometimes to remove makeup (if I have applied any), other times just to cleanse my skin. Secondly I want to state that the Simple Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser has been a staple in my skincare regime for a little over three months. Whilst it hasn't been that long I feel that I can give a clear indication of my thoughts upon this product.
The product is a gentle cleanser that boasts no fragrance. The bottle itself is filled with a water like solution which turns into foam when dispensed. I apply to a wet face and use use about two/three pumps on my face at a time. Also because the foam is gentle I can apply with my fingers and work into the skin gently for about two minutes. I'm not sure on how long the product should be applied but I have found that this length of time has worked for me. Once I hit the two minute mark I wash the product off my face using cold water.
Regarding the feel of my skin, after this product has been applied I can feel and see a considerable difference. My skin is soft, refreshed and bright. I don't think I can fault this product regarding what it has done for my skin (which is make is considerably clearer and brighter). However I'm not keen on the foaming aspect of this item, only because sometimes the substance can get up your nose which isn't too nice - however it's something I can deal with.
Overall this product is great value for money, does what it says on the tin and doesn't require a lot of work but achieves great results. A bargain for the price! I definitely recommend this to those of you out there who don't know a great deal about skincare but what to take a step onto the ladder! A must have for me!
As soon as I looked at it, and applied it I remember why I wanted it so much to begin with. I have a thing for the colour coral, especially in the summer months and whilst I have to say for me this lipstick is a little out there I do love it! When in the packaging the colour can be a little bit intimidating but when applied it isn't as in your face as you would probably think it would be from first impressions.
Of course like most Sleek products the level of pigmentation is crazily great (especially for the price) which can only be a good thing. I tend to dab the lipstick onto my lips for a more coral tinge rather than a full bright coral/orange look. The lipstick itself is very moisturising on the lips which is quite expected for the sheen finish. It almost glossy yet somewhat satin at the same time.
Overall I think if you don't have this shade and are looking for a coral/orange lipstick to add to your collection for this spring/summer, that has amazing stay power and wonderful pigmentation, then definitely check this product out!
When I was shopping recently with my Mum in our local Asda I came across today's product. At first because of the price I was a bit skeptical, this couldn't be anywhere near as good as the Moroccan Oil. The only reason I thought this was because I am a firm believer of you get what you pay for. However I decided to buy it anyway because what's the harm in trying something new. I want to say that I completely retract any doubt over this product.
The product is said to be enriched with Moroccan Argan oil, which is known for its benefits to smooth and nourish hair whilst making it look glossy and full of life. I usually apply 2-3 pumps of this into my damp hair and then leave it for a couple of minute before blow drying. I have to say after application there is a noticeable difference. My hair is soft and smooth to touch and there is a great improvement regarding any fly-aways. My hair also looked a lot more shiny and silky looking which instantly made it appear healthier looking.
The texture of this product is quite thin and gel like, unlike the Moroccan oil this product is clear rather than yellow toned. I apply this through the length of my hair and keep it away from the roots so as to stop my hair appearing greasy.
As far as I can see there isn't that much of a difference between this product and Moroccan Oil. My hair may be slightly softer and shinier after the use of Moroccan Oil but please bare in mind that this produce is near enough a tenth or a third of Moroccan Oil depending on which size of the product you buy.
Therefore, overall I would definitely recommend this product to others who want to venture out into the world of hair oils but don't want to spent a high price tag on more of the hype oils that are on the market.
Recently I have been getting into skincare. I'm not a fiend quite yet but I have started to take better care of my skin knowing that I am now no longer a teen and have to put more effort into how I look.
Considering I'm not quite knowledge on this area I thought I would start with the simple stuff - literally.
Firstly I'm going to write a little bit about my skin, not that I understand it myself haha. I would say that my skin is most likely normal/dry. Sometimes it can be really dry, others it can look a little shiny. If I wear makeup throughout the day I tend to go shiny on the end of my nose (which isn't something I have ever encountered until I burnt my nose badly one year at V festival - don't ask haha!) other than that I'm pretty a-okay.
With this in mind I knew I wanted some sort of moisturiser that would be enough to keep my skin moisturised but nothing too heavy (even more so with the summer months now upon us). Simple kind to skin hydrating light moisturiser was just that.
The product itself is thin enough but not so thin that it runs off my hands when I apply it. This allows you to build the amount of product you need to use to fit to your skin. The moisturiser rubs out to a nice thin layer. It’s easily absorbed into skin and dries off pretty quickly.
Overall, I would say that this is daytime moisturiser, but is also great for night time too if you aren't really into putting heavy products onto your skin.
Price wise and consistency wise it is definitely worth the money. My skin has always been smooth on my face but this has just given it that little something extra.
There are a few drugstore brands that I favour over others and Rimmel is definitely up there as being one of those brands. I'm not usually a fan of wearing anything on my lips - I'm more of a Vaseline/Lipgloss kinda girl.
Lipsticks don't usually appeal to me but lately I have been going through a phase where I love anything and everything coral coloured. It definitely has something to do with it being those summer months.
Anyway, it is because of this coral phase that I picked up this lipstick from Rimmel. The colour is called Soft Coral and that's exactly what it is. The colour transfers as peach-pink nude with a slight orange undertone to it, which I think suits most if not all skin tones. There are slight reflects of sliver that give the lipstick a glittery look, but nothing too prominent. I have to say that for those who have more of a pink lip this colour transfers better if you nude out your lips, with dare I say it, foundation.
Like most Rimmel lip products the packaging is often like Marmite - you love it or hate it. The lipstick comes in a bright, glossy royal purple plastic tube with the Rimmel crown embossed at the top. It feels light and has a young and fun feel to it - however to many the packaging can look pretty cheap sometimes.
Regarding the product itself, Soft Coral has a slightly water texture which allows smooth application. It applies almost like a gloss. When applying, it can feel a bit gritty due to the glitter particles, however you don't always feel this on your lips. The texture, as expected from the glossy feel, isn't drying on the lips however I always prep my lips with a lipbalm before hand just for an easier application. Colour wise it gives a nice, light finish which is buildable (one layer is usually pretty sheer).
Overall, I would repurchase this product as it versatile and suitable for many occasions. You can wear as a sheer, casual look or build up for more of a glam feel. Definitely worth the price tag!
Before you say it I know I'm a little bit late to be reviewing this product. I know by now you've probably seen tons and tons of your favourite bloggers talking about this concealer but I thought I would throw my thoughts into the mix too (not that they aren't the same positive views as the others have already thrown out there).
I have to say this is possibly my favourite concealer. I've tried quite a few over the years and for a long time concealer was the only thing I wore to cover up the odd blemish that graced my reasonable skin. Initially (like most people I think) I tired this thanks to the blogasphere and YouTubers positive views - to be honest I think most of the makeup bought from the drug store is thanks to online views. What I like about this concealer is that it's really soft, creamy. The only downside of this product's consistency is that is can sometimes be a little too thick. However it certainly does its job in covering everything from spots, tiny blemishes to those dark circles, and it does so without feeling too drying and tight.
The packaging is sleek and simple, whilst the doepfer applicator makes it great just to dab a few dots on then blend out with a finger or a brush. Unlike what it states on the packaging I don't think the product lasts the 16 hours wear that it claims too but then again a lot of products claim things nowadays - it's something that can be lived with! I'm on my second Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer and I use two shades (Light 1 and Medium 2). Both of them are a little off - either too light or too dark for my skin - but I plod along just fine. Light 1 is my main choice thought to help reflect and bring light to the parts of my face that need it the most. Overall for the price I have to say that this product is an absolute steal! It's nice to find a drugstore product that lives up to the hype - definitely a must have!
Jeans: G21
Yet, in order to put this out there I wanted to post a little something. What I love about today's outfit is that it is so casual, so easy and just what I want whilst still being a little out there with a certain clothing item. I love these jeans, they are so unlike me and I have had them for ages but have never really gotten around to wearing them. However this morning I thought 'why the hell not?' and threw them on. They speak for themselves and take away a certain amount of plain-ness (is that even a word?) from the outfit. Has anyone else got this sort of item in their closest? If so what sort of thing is your 'go to' item in order to jazz up a boring t-shirt or skirt? I would love to know!
