Dressing for comfort is what I have enjoy doing and I guess I always do when it comes to the colder months. The only problem is the sun thinks we are still in july/august and I'm not a fan considering I've spent £££ (pounds) on autumn clothes so give me autumn damnit! This cardigan is absolutely my most favourite item of clothing in my wardrobe at the moment and whilst it was pricey it was definitely worth paying the money for because I feel it's a classic item with a twist.

The return of the top knot is obviously backing up my lazy nature. If my mother could see me with my hair like this she would be appalled - joke. Actually not so much a joke but a little twist of words, she doesn't like it when girls look as if they haven't put effort in and go for the "messy" look that has actually taken them far longer to achieve than sleeked look would have.

Not much else to say really, other than I can't believe how quickly this month has passed. EEK! It's actually scary to think in two months time I will be twenty. Maybe I shouldn't think about it.

p.s this is scheduled because i am at uni

Don't ask me why I'm wearing shorts in September because even I don't know that, they were just hanging there this morning when I got dressed and I clearly didn't think haha! Throwing a coat over things is what autumn is all about right? When it comes to my autumn wardrobe I tend to sway more to black, but I'm trying to branch out to other colours particularly burgandy. I've found a couple of items that I love and fingers crossed I'll be purchasing soon (my birthday is right around the corner... It isn't but I can start to use this excuse soon, hopefully).

This top is actually a dress that I brought from Topshop that I have yet to actually wear as a dress. Bit weird to think I'm actually using it outside of its purpose before I've actually worn the item how it should be worn? I really love how the collar is the main attraction, on trend without being too OOT, we all know that leopard print has a way of looking a bit brash. I'll definitely have to get some wear out of this because it's definitely one of those things that can be carried from day to night with the right accessories, shoes etc...

sunday snap #47.

#1. I was back a university this week it was weird having to get up incredibly early to fit in working out and making sure I had enough time to get ready and presentable. I'm in four days a week with quite a good timetable, especially for times etc... Hopefully I enjoy everything I've enrolled for as much as I think I will do!

#2. Can I just stress how much I'm loving Charlie Simpson's album - Young Pilgrim. It's such a chilled out album that I can't stop listening to. Definitely buy it if you like listening to acoustic music... I promise you won't be disappointed. My favourites are Riverbanks, Thorns, Suburbs, Sundown, If I Lose It and I Need A Friend Tonight.

#3. I would be lost without Carmex. It's my new "love" and thing that I can't be without. Usually I'm a Vaseline girl, and you never see me without a tub of the stuff, but recently I've decided to splurge a little more. This is only because my lips have been chapping like a bitch. It's horrible, they were so bad that it looked like I'd had lip fillers that had gone wrong. Hopefully it clears up and they are fine again soon because its definitely knocking my confidence.

#4. I completed another one of my 2011 goals this weekend. It was to watch 20 moves by the end of the year. Of course it's not one of my most important goals but it's definitely made me plough on keep going knowing that I can up my game when I set myself "challenges" for next year.

little victories.

I'm so through with being incredibly tired. I absolutely hate how my body does this sometimes when my routine changes dramatically. It's not like I don't get any sleep at all, actually I love my sleep so much so that I try to get at least 9hrs a night. It just has to be done, otherwise I am such a grouch the next day. Yet, I feel like I'm getting nothing. It's stupid. If I'm coming down with something there will be hell to pay! Haha!

Anyway, enough of the moaning and groaning and onto the outfit. I don't know why my jeggings look black when they are actually navy. I have to do something about the lighting, seriously! Sorry for the lack of amazingness, this outfit is so simple but sometimes that's what works the best. I love this nautical vest that I picked up from Topshop, definitely a classic piece with the colours of navy and white - even more so with my trusty scarf from River Island.

losing my edge.

jeggings: topshop

If dressing for comfort was a job title I think I would pretty much be up there for the job. I never ever get old of my oversized cardigans, especially this khaki version from ASOS that I got last year. I just absolutely love them even if they make it look as if I've gained two stone in weight.

Earthy tones have been appealing to me at lot lately, especially when put against as pair of jeans/jeggings. Hence the khaki cardigan and concrete mixer nail varnish. I think it has a lot to do with the change in weather too, I don't want to sound too cheesy but I often believe that a lot of autumn fashions are always inspired by the fallen leaves. Just a thought?

I'm still blasting The Cab's album Symphony Soldier. I still love it as much now as I did when it came out in August. Temporary Bliss needs to be a single or have it's own video because if it doesn't I wont be pleased. I've been lacking on the music front lately, which is strange for me considering I love my music and getting new songs, listening to new bands etc...

lion heart.

I actually wore this outfit on one Saturday and didn't post it - I know, I know this is cheating BUT I actually love this t-shirt so much that I couldn't not post the outfit. Topshop clothes are actually going to make me broke but isn't that always the way. I have so many items on my ~*wish list*~ that I need to somehow make money appear out of nowhere, or spend my student loan (ssh don't tell anyone!).

I've been getting in my nail art lately, first the WAH Leopard Print and now galaxy nails. They are so easy to do and when I'm bored, or feel like I need something to occupy my time until any real uni assignment/reading material enters my life I like to make my nails look pretty. I'll try and post some pictures when I get better at doing the actual process, it's definitely worth taking your time when doing it, and remember that practice makes perfect.

my week in pics #11.

#1. leopard print.
#2. reliving my 8 year old love for westlife.

sunday snap #46.

#1. I'm now a fully enrolled second year student of Uni. Deadline was this week and I chose my modules and enrolled and it's kinda scary. I can't believe that I'm going into my second year already, it really seems like yesterday that I was at high school. Life can really flash before your eyes can't it?! As of tomorrow I'm back at Uni for my induction week and then onto my second year... Eeek!

#2. Chasing Harry Winston is such a good book. I love light reads and this is definitely one of them. I'm only a couple of pages into it but it's actually a little bit funny and reminds of Sex in the City a little bit... Definitely worth checking out.

#3. Turned into a domestic goddess this week. I'm one of those people who is all or nothing and sometimes that reflects in my room. It's either really clean or really messy, there is no in between. It's sparkling at the minute (exaggeration) and there's nothing like sleeping in new bed sheets. I don't even know why this got into my sunday snap post it sounds so lame reading it back... Oh well!

#4. I'm working on getting a camera. At the moment I have a really great Sony one but I'm thinking of buying an SLR/tripod. Maybe I'll get it for Christmas. Photo quality and video quality can have such an affect on an audience I think - visual images are vital in this day an age now because a lot of people tend to learn more/react better to them than words. Anything that can make something look prettier is always a plus right?

#5. I've posted some new videos on my youtube. I don't usually tell anyone about them because my youtube channel was something I wanted to keep private. I know that's the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard right because youtube and private really don't go in the same sentence. I'll probably end up putting the channel on hiatus again sometime soon if I can't think of anything to upload but as for now I'm enjoying it again.

can't change it's spots.

nail polish used: barry m - peach melba (318) and blueberry (306)

The whole leopard nails has really caught my eye and I've decided to post why I love it so much. It has to be because it looks so hard to do and it's not! The nails look professional and great replicas of the WAH nails that everyone wanted all those months ago. You're different to everyone else and it's no harder than painting your nails a simple shade.

Colours are completely your choice and the brighter the better. With the early nights hitting us hard it now I've found that the simplest of things can make me happier. I sometimes joke that when I paint my nails bright they are mourning summer but they do the fantastic with bright colours, metallics also.

If you want to know how to do this simply search on Google. You are bound to find tutorials galore and once you've went through it once you'll know the technique like the back of your hand.

wednesday wants #16 - the blazer.

The black blazer is without a doubt a staple item that everyone should have in their wardrobe. Whether you team it with matching black trousers to wow at work or want to go casual with your favourite skinny jeans the item of clothing goes with anything. Today's post covers three ways in which I would wear a blazer, picking up key colours for autumn/winter hopefully you get some ideas for your own wardrobe.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
1. blazer
2. shirt
3. skirt
4. bag
5. shoes
6. tights

Look one is twist on office wear. The colours may stand out but the blank canvas of the jacket and the surrounding tonal colours round of the outfit perfectly and gives structure.

1. blazer
2. dress
3. shoes
4. socks
5. belt
6. earrings

Screaming Alexa Chung is outfit number two which consists of the very popular skater skirt dresses of the moment. Again choosing one block colour sticks to a prominent trend and allows the blazer to do its job being a staple, without taking limelight and being noticed as worn more than once. The cute socks give it a school girl feel but round of the outfit by adding a snippet of colour to break up the black.

1. blazer
2. jeans
3. vest
4. loafers
5. snood
6. rings
7. earrings

Probably my favourite outfit out of all three today, Look Three is something I could see myself wearing. The rough and ready, edgy style gives something to an otherwise normal black blazer and shows that jackets of this style aren't always boring or just intended for office wear.

sailing to nowhere.

Did you get dressed in the dark? Yes, it looks that way doesn't it but unfortunately I didn't. This skirt is horrendous and I know for sure it's going to go to the back of my closest from now until the end of time. The item was actually something I brought for my holiday to Ibiza in the summer but I didn't get around to wearing it because as always I became victim to that disease that every girl seems to get around their vacation time - you know the one where you pack/buy too much?!

I don't know what it is I hate so much about this skirt - maybe if it was a little shorter it would be so much better to wear? I think I'll have to do something about that because I've gotten into wearing skirts again and this is one that does work well with the colouring of my favourite cardigan ever! Yes, I am definitely letting this cardigan get that title, I adore it. I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of it on here, especially with black which always becomes a favourite of mine when the cold months come.

I'm trying to recycle a lot of stuff especially jewellery I have so much of the stuff that my Mom is now finding "lost" rings underneath couches when she's cleaning. Seriously I'm such a hoarder it has got to stop!

sunday snap #45.

photobooth.. check. check.

#1. First of all please let me rave about The Cab's new album. It was released two weeks ago I think but I've only just got around to buying it and... OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD! It is absolutely, ridiculously, incredibly, amazing. Seriously there is not one song that I haven't played over and over - definitely abusing the replay button on my iTunes. I have to say my favourites are Temporary Bliss, Animal and Endlessly but there is not one song that I would skip on the album. Definitely check it out on iTunes now... It's called Symphony Soldier. Hopefully with this album The Cab will tour the UK because I HAVE to see them!!

#2. I applied for some jobs this week. Fingers crossed I hear back from them because I'm desperate to get out there. There are so many things that I want to do and of course I need money for them. Wish me luck!

#3. I finally went to see One Day with my Mom and OMG how perfect was the casting of Jim Sturgess. I don't want to give anything away but most of you have probably seen it now and to those who say it is terrible, it really isn't. Of course it isn't going to be as great as the book, the book was fantastic and nothing can beat it, but the movie doesn't try to do that. It is just an interpretation and I have to say, personally, I thought it was a pretty good one.

#4. I've been thinking of reviewing some of the items that I own, makeup, body washes, nail polishes and saying whether I recommend any of them or not. I'd like to make additions to this blog and by incorporating more beauty related posts I think I'm taking it a step further even though fashion is where my main love is. I've got four items that I want to "review" and then I'll see what happens. It most likely won't be until some time yet considering I need to find my camera charger but I'd still like to do it. Somehow. Watch this space.

#5. Before I go I just want to take a some time to mention 9/11. 10 years is such a long time and when the attacks happened I was on my way home from primary school considering I was only in year six (age 9/10) at the time. The day is something I definitely won't ever forget and I've spent most of it thinking of those who have lost loved ones, friends, in the attacks and will continue to do so every time this day arises.

chasing down the sun.

blouse: new look
vest top: new look
cardigan: topshop
leggings: asos
earrings: urban outfitters
rings: dorothy perkins and primark

This week has been rather hectic and stressful so tonight I'm going to enjoy just spending some time doing nothing, eating some food, and generally just chilling. Next week is my last week off before I start university so I'm going to try and do as much as I can in the beginning of the week so I can enjoy my last days relaxing.

My outfit for some reason to me screams a little Alexa and a little Mary Kate. I'm throwing together slouchy and structured somewhat because I want to be comfortable but look nice enough to go out and eat. My earrings are one of my most recent purchases from Urban Outfitters. I've become obsessed with triangles a shape and I find that they help give a slimming effect to the neck. That sounds strange I know, haha.

modern times.

jacket: oasis
top: g21
trousers: primark

Felt like I was in such a rush today and I don't know why. Of course this worked its way into my clothes but it could be so much worse - I'm talking some sort of chavvy tracksuit - not that I own one but if I did it could have been that! Again the god awful Primark trousers are in my bad books, I don't like them and I don't know why. Its such a shame because the camel/mustard colouring is perfect for Autumn but they could be so much better. I guess that's what you get with Primark.

The floral t-shirt is old, old, old. So old that it still had its tag on it and was found whilst clearing out my wardrobe. I'm acutally terrible when it comes to clothes and not wearing everything I buy. I'm seriously considering selling a lot of my stuff because most of it has never been worn and it's such a waste because someone else could actually get some use out of it. This top I think is just right for the trousers which sort of have a high waisted look about them so the cropped feel balances the look out perfectly.
